Soda Lake in Jackson Hole
Soda Lake in Jackson Hole
If you have not visited Soda Lake in the Gros Ventre mountains, you are missing some wonderful remote beauty.
I have visited Soda Lake several times, each time via four-wheeler. One time I rented them from Teton Adventure Center with my friend the Southern California, King Of Contractors Mark Rochlitz. Later as I wound up purchasing several ATVs I returned with my wife.
We had such a great time simply sitting by the bank’s relaxing and watching the water end letting all of life’s busy worries float away. We did not have any luck fishing, but I think that has more to do with our fishing skills than the potential of the lake. There were several other people fishing, some by boat and some from the bank.
It is tough to reach unless you have a four-wheel drive vehicle and it should not be a rented Cadillac Escalade as it will probably get scratched.

A Washington angler meeting with success!
On one visit to Soda Lake I saw a nice couple from Washington that were fishing on the lake. It was wonderful watching them have a great time as Anglers and then they met on the bank for lunch while enjoying the beautiful view. I have to wonder how someone from out of town had discovered this remote Mountain late, but I am glad they did and that they got to enjoy Soda Lake in Jackson Hole.
